Day 2: Wandering Athens
Today I wandered Athens. I hadn't done any real research before arriving but as I only had a day I decided I'd at least visit the Acropolis. Well, I didn't actually pay the 12 EUR to go into the area where the Acropolis is. Instead I wandered the park surrounding it, climbing the hills and enjoying the view. I much more relaxing experience than walking Athenian streets.
Before heading out the door, I noticed that one of the clips in my shoe was missing a screw. (Great, only took a day.) So, I let Google lead me to the nearest bike shop. The guy at FuNKyRiDe gave me the screw I needed and an extra one at no charge.
I also wanted to grab some typical Greek food. So, I got a vegetarian Paella at Avocado and a Falafal and Falafellas. Alright, not really Greek food at all. :) The Paella was alright but a bit overpriced for my liking. The falafel was really good and affordable. Seems I'm not the only one that thinks so as I had to wait in line for about 20 min just to order.
Anyway, this blog is not about sight-seeing so I'll stop here. Tomorrow I start the first real leg of the trip.
